The mission of the Global Health Institute is to create equity in health for people around the world. Health is not just the absence of disease but the wellness that allows an individual to live a full and productive life within his or her own social and cultural context. The mission of the Global Health Institute extends beyond the individual to populations, or the public’s health, endeavoring to promote the health of people and the communities where they live. The Global Health Institute achieves its mission through undergraduate and graduate education programs, support for global health research, and service activities that promote global health.
